Welcome Qweekend Readers

May 30, 2009

Hello there!!

This is just a quick shout out to all of the readers of Qweekend magazine. Thanks for taking the time to come and check out the site. It is still very much a work in progress but feel free to have a nosey and to check out some of my other products and my up and coming blog. The online store is now up and running so you can even take a little momento home with you.

I will be updating the site a whole lot more over the coming weeks, but if you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to get in touch via the contact link at the top.

Big Update.. Opening Sale Week

May 30, 2009

A few milestone updates to report…The Lattice platter product page is now up and it is also now possible to buy my products online directly from this website. If you like what you see and you know the perfect spot at your place for any of my small range, just browse through to the product pages to find the shopping cart located in the sidebar. To celebrate this momentous occasion in the short history of my very own little corner of the web, I am offering a pretty generous 15% discount on all purchases until the 6th of June. Simple as that. The online transaction side of things is powered by e-junkie and Paypal so you can rest assured that all of the payments are secure. You even have the option of parting with your hard earned money via credit card or from your Paypal account.

There are still a few little things to sort out (I cant figure out why the overlay aligns to the left, but Im working on it) but its all up and running and open for business.

Still to come is the inclusion of a comprehensive About section for those of you curious as to who I actually am, as well as examples of other projects I have worked on.

Stay Tuned

Interview – Some truths about life after Uni

March 15, 2009

I was recently interviewed by designondesign.com on what it has been like after leaving University and setting up my own design business.

For those of you who may be interested in what was involved, click here to see the interview in all of its entirety.

Business time…

So a funny thing happened to me in Wellington yesterday…. Actually, funny things have been happening all week.I read an article in the NZ herald recently, of which here is a small excerpt.

“The fly-on-the wall programme, Flight of the Conchords: On Air, includes behind-the-scenes footage of the Conchords’ lives in New York. McKenzie, 32, and Jemaine Clement, 35, also speak candidly about their road to fame.
Clement reveals an unexpected lifestyle at the hub of American entertainment.

“I thought I was going to be pampered with … fruitbowls. A lazy person shouldn’t be made to work as much as I have to,” he says.

In keeping with one source of laughs on the show, the pair also reveal they are constantly quizzed about their accents when out and about in New York.”

Anyway, ever since reading it I have been trying to figure out how to contact him to give him a fruitbowl. Turns out I just needed to let him find me in a weird twist of fate.

I went to visit the lovely Michelle and the crew at Backhouse Interiors in Wellington on a whim and guess who walks into the store at the same time? I couldn’t believe my eyes.

So now Bret is a the proud owner of one of my fruitbowls!! Its such a hard case thing to happen, just thought I had to share it.

This also comes at the end of a two week stint where I met Richard Taylor from Weta at the airport when a friend from Denmark just so happens to be applying for a job there soon, and then I also bumped into Jermaine from Flight of the Conchords at the airport a few days later.

I cant wait to see who I might meet next week.

A quick update

January 18, 2009

Just a quick update to let you know that a couple more pages have been added.

Be sure to take a look at the Polycarbonate version of the Bol fruit bowl as well as the Punga lights.

Other small changes to the pages have also been made, including a handy little FAQ at the bottom.

More page updates and an online store will be coming in the near future so check back soon.

Back online..

October 9, 2008

Hello!!

And welcome back!! After an extended downtime, the website is finally back online. For those of you who have tried to view this website over the past few months you would have been greeted by a simple yet lovely construction banner. The original intention was to have it back well before now, but the realities of running a business have meant it has taken a little bit longer than intended.

The purpose of the original word press site was simply to give myself an online presence as I was starting out on my journey, however as time went by I realised there was so much more I wanted to do with it so its time to wipe the slate clean and start again.

There are still a lot of things to be done and the site will be updated regularly over the next few weeks with more information aswell as the odd rant and rave about what is happening in the wider design community.

Be sure to check back soon.
