So a funny thing happened to me in Wellington yesterday…. Actually, funny things have been happening all week.I read an article in the NZ herald recently, of which here is a small excerpt.

“The fly-on-the wall programme, Flight of the Conchords: On Air, includes behind-the-scenes footage of the Conchords’ lives in New York. McKenzie, 32, and Jemaine Clement, 35, also speak candidly about their road to fame.
Clement reveals an unexpected lifestyle at the hub of American entertainment.

“I thought I was going to be pampered with … fruitbowls. A lazy person shouldn’t be made to work as much as I have to,” he says.

In keeping with one source of laughs on the show, the pair also reveal they are constantly quizzed about their accents when out and about in New York.”

Anyway, ever since reading it I have been trying to figure out how to contact him to give him a fruitbowl. Turns out I just needed to let him find me in a weird twist of fate.

I went to visit the lovely Michelle and the crew at Backhouse Interiors in Wellington on a whim and guess who walks into the store at the same time? I couldn’t believe my eyes.

So now Bret is a the proud owner of one of my fruitbowls!! Its such a hard case thing to happen, just thought I had to share it.

This also comes at the end of a two week stint where I met Richard Taylor from Weta at the airport when a friend from Denmark just so happens to be applying for a job there soon, and then I also bumped into Jermaine from Flight of the Conchords at the airport a few days later.

I cant wait to see who I might meet next week.
